Bali Bali Restaurant

A night out in Sungai Petani looking for good food and we ended up in this place called Restaurant Bali Bali. It was highly recommended by our friend Jothi. They serve Thai Cuisine here. I have no idea why they name it Bali Bali in the first place; could have named it Thai Thai. There is nothing much to say about the place; the setting is fairly normal. But the service was good; the waiter and waitress are friendly enough. As for the food, I would say it’s quite tasty and very nicely presented especially Ikan Siakap 3 Rasa. The price is also quite reasonable considering there were 5 of us.

Nasi Kandar Line Clear & Famous Penang Cendol and Ais Kacang

I was in Penang Island quite some time ago. The island was a fantastic place to visit, especially the edge of the city which is surrounded by sea water, and Penang Ferry was a new level of experience (sounds like a 'Jakun'). My friend Rev told me I should try The famous Penang Nasi Kandar, Nasi Kandar Line Clear which is located on the Penang Street. I was quite shocked with the place because it looks nothing like what I had pictured in my head. Well, take a look for yourself, THE famous Penang Nasi Kandar..

Despite the run-down-look, the place appeared to attract many customers. They have variety of dishes to choose from. The food is kinda good but slightly over-priced. I guess they can afford to do so since they are known to be The Best in town.

Couple of blocks away, at a small junction of the road is where the Famous Penang Cendol & Ais Kacang  is. There are 2 stalls operates right opposite each another. Apparently the one on the right is the original which I found out later. The ais kacang and cendol were okay. I was happy enough to have quenched my thirst after a long walk under the blazing sun. I didn't get to try Penang Char Kuew Teoy. May be the next time around.

HOI TONG- Steamboat Restaurant

I have been to quite a number of steamboats around Klang Valley. But this one here, known as HOI TONG STEAMBOAT is the BEST of all. Located in Sri Kembangan further down from South City Plaza heading towards Puchong and the place is a little bit hard to find. But don’t worry, you will definitely be satisfied. The exact address would be as follows:

Lot 12, Sri Kembangan Tambahan,
Jalan SK 13,
43300 Sri Kembangan,
Selangor.

The place looks nothing great. Even the signboard is kinda hidden. If you are planning to go here, please go early; 7.00 to 7.30pm should be okay. Anything later than, it’s gonna be massively hard for two reason; the place will be crowded, so you might have to wait for sometime before you can have a table for yourself and the parking is very hard to find (Even I couldn’t find the parking and had to park by the road side).

It is buffet style steamboat and grills, RM26.00 for all you can eat. It is slightly expensive compared to other steamboats in town. So if you come early with an appetite of an angry man, you can pace yourself and make it worth the money you pay. The drinks are counted separately. I ordered Chinese Tea (Pot).

There are 2 kinds of soup being served, Chicken Soup and Tom Yum Soup (very spicy). We just took Tom Yum.  The good thing about this place is, the meat comes in large portions and have variety of choices. My friends and I had a great time here and we made sure that the money we paid was worth it.

HOMST Chinese Muslim Cuisine, Kajang.

Me and my friends decided to take a drive further into Kajang for lunch today. We ended up in Prima Saujana, Kajang. It is 5 to 10 minutes off the Kajang Silk Highway. We came across this restaurant by the name HOMST Chinese Muslim Cuisine. It looks like baba nyonya restaurant in Malacca. The thing I like about this place is the cleanliness. The staffs seem to be maintaining it pretty well. The setting looks presentable with Chinese style dining tables and Muslim concept arts on the walls. The food taste quite good and the prices are affordable. It works as a replacement for the regular Old Town White Coffee and Papa Rich we usually crash in. We had separate dishes with a few ad-ons to it.

Thai Fried Rice - RM 6.00

Crab Meat Fried Rice - RM 9.00

Cantonese Fried Noodles - RM 6.00

Kong Pow Chicken - RM12.00

Chinese Pancake - RM 10.00

Overall the food was good and worth the money we paid.
